Toning Shoes
This is the latest development in sport shoe design from the USA, where it is proving hugely popular. The basic idea is that the shoe has a raised area on the sole, which creates a slight instability, forcing the leg, thigh and buttock muscles to work harder in balancing you - thus giving them an extra tone-up with every step taken. The leading brands all have slightly different takes on the concept, which makes for an interesting variety of options.
